Friction Savers
We all know ropes aren’t cheap, by adding a friction saver to your climb it can potentially make your ropes last longer and give you the perfect frictionless climb. Ropes running over limbs can cause friction damage over time to both the ropes and the tree’s cambium, so a proper friction saver is a must.
Simple friction savers come in fixed lengths, like our top seller the Buckingham Friction Saver, which consist of incredibly thick webbing and aluminum rings. Other friction savers are adjustable and excellent for working on spars, just make sure to have a 5”-6” gap between the rings when on the spar, like the FIMBL Adjustable Friction Saver by Teufelberger Ropes.
We at Bartlett highly recommend The Snake Tail, a hybrid climbing device that can be used as an adjustable friction saver or a redirect for either MRS or SRS.
